The Itsekiri National Congress USA (INC-USA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association of Itsekiri Regions in the United States. Founded in 2025 and organized into eight chartered Regions — NorCal, NY/NJ, Houston, Dallas DFW, Florida, Chicago, DMV, and Colorado — INC-USA exists to strengthen unity, build credible governance, and deliver measurable programs that uplift Itsekiris in the diaspora and strengthen Iwere Land. The first national pillar is Ìwẹrẹ Care, INC-USA's health program, run with The Roli Mabo Foundation and in pilot since 2025 at the Jakpa Health Centre (2 beds) and the Ugbege Health Centre (5 beds) in Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, Nigeria; sites at Warri Central and Sapele are planned, and INC-USA is recruiting volunteer diaspora physicians to work with patients at the centres. Iwere Academy, scholarships, the Business Network, the Buy Itsekiri directory, and a Bereavement Fund round out current and in-design programs. The Second National Convention took place September 4–6, 2026, at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront in Burlingame, California, where the delegates adopted the Constitution and Bylaws on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Under Article XII, national officers are elected at Convention by open ballot, one vote per Region. INC-USA's EIN is 33-3023590; financials and Form 990 will publish after fiscal year 2026 closes. § Diaspora civic governance

A 501(c)(3) becomes a constitutional body

INC-USA is a working laboratory for diaspora civic governance — a federation of eight regional Itsekiri associations operating as a single 501(c)(3) under one written Constitution. Convention 2026 marked the adoption of that Constitution on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and the public commitment to open books, open minutes, and open ballots. Article 12 specifically codifies how Regions vote: one Region, one vote, on the floor of the Convention plenary.

§ Health equity story

Diaspora physicians, telehealth, and the Niger Delta

Ìwẹrẹ Care, INC-USA's first national pillar, has been in pilot since 2025, run with The Roli Mabo Foundation. The pilot health centres are the Jakpa Health Centre (2 beds) and the Ugbege Health Centre (5 beds) in Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, where specialist care has historically required hours of travel. Sites at Warri Central and Sapele are planned, not yet open. INC-USA is recruiting volunteer Itsekiri physicians in the United States to work with patients at the centres.

§ Cultural preservation

Children born far from Warri — and the institutions to keep them rooted

Iwere Academy, the Buy Itsekiri directory of diaspora-owned businesses, the Bereavement Fund for member families, and the Heritage Gala on Saturday evening of the Convention all answer one underlying question: how does a diaspora preserve Itsekiri language, food, ritual, and economic kinship two generations after migration? Photos and quotes available from the Saturday gala.
